Aigner-powered electromagnetic flow meters are widely used due to their minimal obstruction to fluid flow, reasonable cost, and high measurement accuracy. With no moving parts, electromagnetic flow meters are not affected by wear, helping reduce operating and maintenance costs. A wide range of electromagnetic flow meters is available with various liner materials, electrode options, and sizes, capable of measuring flow rates of many different types of conductive liquids.

Disadvantages:

– Electromagnetic interference: If installed near variable frequency drives (VFDs) or high-power motors, the measurement signal may be affected by interference unless proper shielding and grounding are applied.
