An air release valve is a device installed on pipelines to automatically discharge trapped air during system operation. When air accumulates in the pipeline, it forms air bubbles or air pockets, which can reduce flow capacity, cause pipe vibration, or lead to water hammer.
The air release valve helps remove trapped air, ensures stable pressure, and protects pumps and equipment.
