Mô tả
The Müller swing check valve is an automatic valve that allows flow in only one direction and prevents backflow. Inside the valve, a swing-type disc opens when forward flow pressure is present and closes when the flow stops or reverses, preventing water hammer and protecting pipeline equipment.
This type of valve operates without external power, offers high durability, and is suitable for various fluids such as clean water, wastewater, oil, and gas.
Construction:
– Valve body: Typically cast from ductile iron (GGG40/50) with a rounded (bulb-shaped) design to optimize flow capacity.
– Valve cover: Made from the same material as the valve body, it can be removed for inspection and cleaning of the internal valve disc without needing to detach the valve from the pipeline.
– Disc: cast iron, steel, or rubber-lined (EPDM/NBR)
– Sealing gasket: EPDM, NBR, PTFE
– Shaft and lever arm: Connect the valve disc to the valve body, allowing the disc to swing open under flow pressure and close when the flow stops.
– Bonnet bolts and nuts
Technical specifications:
– Size: DN50 – DN200
– Working pressure: PN10, PN16, PN25
– Working temperature: 0–80°C (cast iron) / up to 180°C (stainless steel or steel)
– Connection type: Flanged connection according to standard specifications such as DIN, ANSI and JIS.
– Body material: gray cast iron, ductile iron FCD450, stainless steel 304/316, carbon steel
– Media: clean water, wastewater, compressed air, oil, fire protection systems
Key Characteristics:
– Allows one-directional flow, automatic opening and closing
– Simple structure, easy maintenance
– Lower pressure loss compared to spring check valves
– High durability, suitable for dirty water and environments with small solid particles
– Smooth operation, minimizes water hammer
– Can be installed horizontally or vertically
Benefits:
– High durability: Simple structure with few moving parts, reducing the likelihood of mechanical failure
– Cost-effective
– Easy maintenance: The valve cover design allows direct access to the valve interior, enabling quick disc replacement and easy cleaning of debris.
– Low pressure loss: When fully open, the swing disc moves out of the flow path, reducing friction and pressure drop compared to spring type check valves.
– Easy installation
– Suitable for a wide range of media
Disadvantages:
– Closes slowly than a spring check valve (may cause slight shock at high flow rates)
– Not suitable for very high-pressure environments
– Water hammer phenomenon: The swing disc closes by gravity and reverse flow, if the flow stops suddenly, the disc may slam against the valve seat, causing noise and pressure shock.
Applications
– Pump discharge side: Prevents water from flowing back from elevated points, protecting the impeller of Xylem pumps when they stop operating.
– Manholes and flood control pumping stations: Prevents water from rivers or drainage canals from flowing back into the urban drainage system during high tides.
– Storage tank systems: Ensures water flows only into the tank and does not backflow out when the supply pressure drops.
